Cs get degrees

It took me 17 years to complete my associate’s degree. And Iโ€™m proud as fuck about it. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฅ‡

Mental health struggles aside, my college experience can be summed up like this:

In 1998 I failed out of art school at Rutgers University. Then attended Bergen Community College in late โ€˜98 – failed and dropped out. In 2000 I studied computer science at Hudson County Community College. In 2002 I received a scholarship to Seton Hall University. Three years later I dropped out and went to work as a web designer.

Fast-forward a half-decade and my design career is in full swing. But not having a college degree still felt like a major anchor for me professionally.

After some research, I realized I just needed one more class to graduate from HCCC with an AS in computer science.

But it was Calculus III. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ

After initial hesitation, I enrolled in Spring 2012. My goal going in was to pass with the minimum grade to graduate (Cs get degrees๐Ÿฅ‰).

And it was really, really hard. BUT I passed…

I ended up with a B+ ๐Ÿฅˆ! Not too bad after a 10-year Calc hiatus. And Iโ€™m proud as fuck about that. ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ

A few months later I picked up my degree and became the first college graduate in my immediate family. And Iโ€™m proud as fuck about that too! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
